A mid-century modern wedding photography shoot on film

Mid-Century Wedding in Palm Springs

This photoshoot in Palm Springs, California with Blake & Ed was one that I will always remember, and I am so grateful that I got to document this intimate moment between the two of them! If you’ve never been to Palm Springs, it’s truly the most iconic place for Mid-Century architecture and interior design. Palm Springs is located right in the middle of the desert with 360 views of the Santa Rosa and the San Jacinto Mountains.

For anybody that hasn’t yet had the chance to visit this vintage oasis, I think you’re going to love it. Especially if you’re thinking about having a wedding, or party here.

Meet Blake & Ed

Before I show you all of the gorgeous images from this special day, I want you to get to know this lovely couple a little bit better! Blake is from California, and Ed is from France! These two met years ago and settled down in the desert! They have the most gorgeous home right outside of the city with the cutest Mid Century flare and so much character. Blake has always dreamed of owning a Mid-Century Mercedes, so I am so happy that we incorporated this vintage car into our shoot together.

Blake and Ed were so much fun to hang out with and I can’t wait to spend more time with them in the future. You can follow along on their Palm Springs adventures here: Blake & Ed

Blake loves film photography, so I was inspired to shoot the entire evening on 35mm and 120mm film. We started the evening with a Mezcal Margarita in their living room and got to know each other a little bit better before shooting! Blake and Ed started to get ready for their wedding photos in their adorable MCM bathroom. They helped each other button up their shirts and put on their bow ties.

After Blake and Ed were dressed and ready, we started shooting outside of their home with the Vintage Mercedes! I am obsessed with this set of images.

When we finished up at their home, we made our way into downtown Palm Springs to wrap up the shoot. We visited some MCM homes and lastly, went to the City Hall for a few photos. The Palm Springs City Hall is stunning. The architecture is so fun and 3 palm trees go straight through the roof. It’s pretty incredible!

Blake and Ed were so much fun to work with and killed this photoshoot. The lighting, architecture, outfits, and scenery were incredible. I cannot wait to work with them again in the future and feel so grateful to have been able to document this time of their life together in the low desert.
