Bull Run Battlefield Engagement

April 30, 2018

One thing that I do that constantly throws people off is that I ask for couples Instagram handles in my contact form. Not only do I like to see if we share mutual friends but I also like to put a face with a name. Unfortunately, I am TERRIBLE when it comes to remembering peoples names. After Kyle and Michael inquired a few months ago I immediately checked out there social media pages and saw that they were at a wedding venue that looked really familiar. I also noticed that Michael was wearing an orange bracelet… call me crazy but I figured it out right away. Michael was a groomsmen at the FIRST wedding I had ever shot in my entire life back in August 2016. I may not be able to remember names but I am pretty good at remembering small details like that. All of the groomsmen had orange bracelets. After asking them if they were guests, sure enough they were! What a small world?

Tonight we shot at the Bull Run Battlefield in Manassas, Virginia for their engagement session. As soon as we met I knew that these two were going to be fun to work with. Between their sarcastic comments and hilarious jokes I was ready for the session. The forecast had changed a thousand times this week so we definitely got lucky with some light wind and a great golden hour. Michael and Kyle were super goofy which made for some awesome shots with movement. I can’t wait to photograph their winter wedding in December at Rock Hill Farm Culpeper, Virginia! You guys are incredible!
