Cannon Beach Winter Elopement

This Cannon Beach winter elopement styled shoot was so dreamy! I met Cara right after I moved to Portland. I was visiting Never Coffee (a must-try for anyone in the area), and she was behind the counter. We chatted about everything creative – especially photography since she is a photographer too! It was so much fun to talk to another creative in the area. She was so welcoming and made me feel like we had been friends for years! After she showed me pictures of her and her boyfriend, Nadison, I couldn’t help but admire their natural beauty. They were such an attractive couple!

I immediately told her that I was interested in photographing them. From there on, we started planning a styled shoot. I reached out to some of my favorite vendors in the area, such as Wildflower Portland. The owner, Chas Thomas, is incredible, and I knew she would make the perfect florals for this shoot! When it came to finding a dress, I knew the perfect business to reach out to – A&BE Bridal Shop in Portland, Oregon. They have the most beautiful collections I have ever seen.

After all of these fantastic vendors were on board, we decided to do the styled shoot on Cannon Beach on the coast. It was super windy and cold, which made for an even more fun shoot. You could never tell how cold it was from the photos! We ran around on the beach and had a blast together. Wildflower Portland gave us two bouquets and asked us to throw one bouquet to get stuck on Haystack rock. We did just that; we threw it and ran out. Her dress got soaking wet, but it was so worth it. We finished the afternoon at Ecola State Park on the cliff side and watched the sunset as the evening went on.

Overall, this was a fun and intimate afternoon and shoot. These two are so cute, and I am so thankful that Cara and I crossed paths over a year ago. I am so excited to shoot more elopements at Cannon Beach because, as many of you know – the coast is my favorite place in the world.
