Raelynn and Christian first inquired with me back in December of 2019. With original plans of eloping on the Oregon Coast, to a destination wedding, these two decided to have a beautiful backyard wedding right outside of Eugene, Oregon.
Last year, during the Fall of 2020, the west coast was hit was insane wildfires. These wildfires spread like crazy and unfortunately got close to Raelynn and Christians’ home. As you can imagine, that is pretty terrifying. With that said, they wanted to reprioritize their wedding and have it at a place that means a lot to them, their backyard.
Something about backyard weddings makes me so happy! Getting married at the place you cherish most, where all of your memories are made is truly something special. I was so excited when Raelynn called me and told me all about the forest and creek on their property. I did not doubt that they were going to make it a dream and sure enough – it felt like a real-life fairytale. Passionflower Design based in Eugene, Oregon did an amazing job setting the scene.
Raelynn and Christian initially wanted to have a very intimate ceremony with just the two of them, but the night before called their parents and invited them! Their parents were SO excited for these two and made sure to be there.
We brought down their dining room chairs and the ceremony began. It was so quiet & peaceful. The creek was running, the birds were chirping and the sunlight came through the pine trees at just the right angle. After the ceremony ended, we took portraits around their property and played with their sweet puppy, Stevie.
Raelynn and Christian are having a reception at the end of August where they will celebrate their marriage with their friends and family! I am SO excited for these two and feel honored to capture such an intimate setting. I am wishing you two a lifetime of happiness!
Thinking of eloping too? Let’s start planning your special day.
