Derek and Willow had an autumn elopement in Mount Rainier National Park. If I had to describe them in two words, it would be authentic and hip! They rented out an awesome airstream cabin too! The morning started off slow; I took detailed shots of her beautiful dress, the flowers, and their rings. The day included a beautiful overcast and had tons of cozy vibes. This micro wedding included immediate family and best friends.
We hung around in the cabin and ate great food and also chatted. Later that day, Derek, Willow, and I drove to Paradise, where they shared their first look. The morning was so intimate. The sun came out, making the lighting beautiful. We strolled around the park and took portraits, and then went back to the cabin. It was only a quick hour’s drive. Lots of tears, laughter, and hugs later, they got married and exchanged vows. Shortly after, Derek, Willow, and the bridal party (all of their closest friends) went back to Mt. Rainier and took portraits and sunset photos. It was still overcast; however, there was gorgeous blue light peeking through. We drove back to the house in the dark, where we gathered and ate a family-style meal!
We all shed lots of tears, all happy. The love in the room was felt so deeply by everyone. Derek and Willow are such a faithful couple. I am so grateful to have crossed paths with them. I adored how intimate the couple and the overall day was. Moving forward, I am so excited to shoot more intimate and micro weddings. Micro weddings are fun because it is just the people you love most, and no one feels any pressure. Everyone has the chance to share stories and favorite memories, and it makes the couples day that much more special.
