A Vintage Inspired Palm Springs Engagement

As a photographer, there’s nothing quite like capturing the love between two people during their engagement session. And that’s exactly what I got to do with Linc and Canyon in Palm Springs, California. The vintage inspired shoot was relaxed and laid back, and we explored some fantastic locations.

We started the shoot at Linc and Canyon’s families home, where we decided to do something different: an underwater photo shoot! They have a gorgeous pool, and we took full advantage of it. We decided to have fun with a toy Kodak point-and-shoot disposable camera during the engagement session. It was a spontaneous decision, but it ended up being great. The photos we got from that little camera have a cool vintage vibe, and they’re some of my favorites from the shoot. We got some stunning shots of the two floating in the water, surrounded by bubbles and sunlight. It was a beautiful and intimate way to start the session.

Next, we hopped on our bikes and explored the neighborhood. Palm Springs has some fantastic mid-century modern architecture, and we found some perfect spots to take photos. Linc and Canyon were so easy to work with, and they made the shoot fun. We found some gorgeous Bougainvillea trees which were the perfect setting for their outfits.

Finally, we headed out to Pioneertown to finish the evening. Pioneertown is a unique town in the high desert with a relaxed western vibe. It was the perfect place to wrap up the shoot! It was originally founded in the 1940s as a movie set, designed to resemble an old Western town. Today, it has evolved into a quirky community that blends Western-style architecture with modern amenities.

One of the things I love about being a photographer is that I get to work with all kinds of people, and every shoot is so different. Linc and Canyon were such a joy to work with. They’re getting married on the Amalfi Coast in Italy in May, and I know it will be an incredible week.

Overall, Linc and Canyon’s engagement session was a huge success! We got some amazing photos that capture their love and their personalities. I’m so grateful that I get to do this job and work with such wonderful people.
